Job Description

 

·       We’re looking to add a skilled pharmaceutical sales representative to our team. In this role, it will be your responsibility to assist our clients with purchasing the right prescription drugs for their needs. To achieve this, you will spend time building relationships with clients, delivering samples to them, and explaining the benefits of new products. It will be your job to convert these relationships into sales.

·       You will also spend time attending sales meetings, training sessions, and conference calls. You’ll work with your sales staff to develop targeted strategies for each individual customer. You may also spend time monitoring and analyzing data to help you reach your sales goals.

·       To do well in this position, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to convert relationships into sales consistently. 1.     A pharmaceutical sales representative is an employee whose primary goal is to sell new and existing prescription drugs to hospitals, doctors, and drugstores. To achieve this goal, the pharmaceutical sales representative needs to form relationships with buyers and keep them informed of the latest innovations in the industry.

 

2.     Employees in this role will spend their time providing product information to potential buyers, delivering product samples, developing targeted pitching strategies, and completing other tasks that facilitate the sale of pharmaceuticals. To qualify for this position, an individual typically needs to have a bachelor’s degree, previous experience in pharmaceuticals, and proven expertise in sales.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales and Promotion:
    • Regularly visit pharmacies and healthcare facilities to meet with healthcare professionals and pharmacy staff to promote our products.
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets.
    • Provide accurate information about the specifications and benefits of our pharmaceutical products.
    • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  1. Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
    • Identify and engage key decision-makers within pharmacies and healthcare institutions.
    • Attend and participate in local and regional healthcare events, conferences, and exhibitions to network with industry professionals.
  1. Market Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze market trends and competitor activity in the territory to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
    • Prepare detailed reports on sales activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
    • Provide feedback from customers to enhance the product and service offerings.
  1. Training and Education:
    • Organize and conduct training sessions for pharmacy staff and healthcare providers on product features, benefits, and proper usage.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry developments, new drug launches, and regulatory changes.
  1. Compliance and Ethics:
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and company policies at all times.
    • Maintain high ethical standards in all dealings and interactions.

Skills & Experience

  1. Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
    • Experience in dealing with pharmacies, hospitals, and/or healthcare providers is highly desirable.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to persuade and influence others.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical skills to evaluate market conditions and understand customer needs.
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Certification from a recognized pharmaceutical sales training course is an advantage.
